The things three boys are learning

Fridays at the Park 26/05/2011

Dad – On Fridays at 1:00, if the weather is nice, we meet have a playgroup that goes to Exhibition park.

Ethan – We were late two times, so I didn’t get to play very much.

Ethan Playing at the Park

Marlon – They have trucks there that are for park trucks. You can’t take them home, but you can play with them at the park.

Ethan – We’re going to give some trucks to the park too.

Ethan – If you want to come play with us you can. Sometimes we bring snacks too.

Science Centre 25/05/2011

Ethan – We went to Toronto to the Science Centre. It has some things for big people and some things for kids. It has some movies too, but we didn’t see any movies. We just saw a lady talk about electricity.

Marlon – The lady said, “Who wants to come up?” and I said, “I do,” so I went up. I went by myself, and then I went with Ethan.

Ethan – The lady made our hair stand up with a big ball that has electricity (a van de Graaff Generator).

Ethan – They had animals too, but pretty much just animals from Canada. They had snakes and turtles and frogs and toads.

Marlon – There was a bridge by the animals, and it went under some waterfalls.

Marlon – And there was a big thing with balls that went flying around and up and down. I put the balls in, and they went shooting.

Swamp Treck 24/05/2011

Ethan – We went on a swamp treck to find some tadpoles.

Ethan and Marlon in the Swamp

Ethan – I fell in up to my butt. I was holding onto a log with my hands, and my butt was in the water. Marlon had to rescue me.

Marlon – I fell in too. Up to my nipples.

Ethan – We looked for tadpoles, but we couldn’t find any. Maybe it’s too cold still, so we’ll try again another time.

Worms 23/05/2011

Dad – We were learning about worms a couple of weeks ago.

Marlon – We got some dirt and put it in a jar, and then we chucked in some worms.

Ethan – We put the jar in the dark, and when we turned the light back on, we saw some worm tunnels.

Then we were digging in our garden, and we found some worms mating

Ethan – Then we were digging in the garden and we saw some worms mating. You can tell that they’re mating because they’re attached together and they have sticky stuff on them.

Dad – We apologize that we haven’t been posting lately, but we’ve had some computer problems, and things are only just now getting back to normal. Here are some pictures of the mold farms that we made last week to start us back on the right track.

Last Skate of the Year 04/05/2011

Ethan – Sometimes we go skating with my friend Dawson. First we went skating somewhere else without Dawson, actually, but then we started skating at Exhibition with Dawson.

Ethan Skating

Dad – We go on Wednesday afternoons from 1:30 to 2:30 at the Exhibition Arena. It is a public skate and only costs a dollar. It is now finished for the year, but it will begin again next year if you want to go skating with us.

Marlon – I go skating with my friends too. I can do a twirl.

Ethan – This is a video of us skating. It’s sideways because Dad did it wrong, and now he can’t fix it.

Dad – True.
