Catching Up After Christmas 10/01/2013

Dad – Okay, so we don’t post nearly as much now that the older boys are in public school, but we are seriously behind on our Christmas activities. This should catch us up a little.

Dad – So, boys, what did we do for Christmas.

Ethan – We did Christmas baking. I picked candycane bark with white chocolate (pronounced `choc-liiit’, for those of you who were wondering).

Marlon – I picked fudge. Mommy didn’t put enough chocolate (standard pronunciation in this case) in the fudge, so it was gooey. Then we made it hot again and put in more chocolate (standard pronunciation again), so it was really chocolately (pronounced ‘choooc-lity’).

Dad – Did Jayden help?

Ethan – Not really. He just ate stuff.

Marlon – Is eating helping?

Dad – What else did we do?

Marlon – We made the Christmas tree. We put all the stuff on, but only til Christmas, then we took it down the next day.

Ethan – I didn’t want to, and Dad didn’t want to, but Mom and Marlon did.

Marlon – Christmas trees are just for Christmas, like Santa Claus.

Ethan – There’s no such thing as Santa Claus.

Marlon – I know, that’s why he’s just for Christmas, like the tree (which is, you know, irrefutible logic).

Dad – Anything else?

Marlon – Yeah, we had ten Christmases (six at most actually, and we’re pushing the definition of ‘a Christmas’ here).

Ethan – Nana came, and Pappa Art came, and Uncle Cory and Aunt Chandra and Caleb and Jeff. And we went to Grandma Lord’s, and we went to Pappa Art’s, and we went to Pappa Larry’s. That’s all the Christmases.

Marlon – No! And Cory took us to Laser Quest!

Ethan – That’s not a Christmas, Marlon!

Marlon – If there’s a Christmas tree there, it’s a Christmas (again, irrefutible).
